Donata Mapelli From her early childhood she is drawn to the world of precious stones, which inspires her to create her very first pieces.  She goes on to attend an artistic secondary school, where she discovers the delicate art of watercolour, embarking upon a personal quest to study in depth the intensities of colour and the perspectives of transparency.  She soon builds on her passion for painting by falling in love with ceramics, modelling pieces in clay with striking enthusiasm. She proves to be particularly intuitive in this creative form, experimenting with organic paints and the different ways they can be used to create works of art.  Her years of experience in painting and sculpture help to develop her modelling skills, enhancing her sensitivity to transparency and to the power of colour. The next natural step in her artistic path could only be to apply what she had learned to the art of gold.  And this is how DonyOro jewels were conceived, unique pieces inspired, just like the stories that tell their tale, by nature, the theatre, opera and literature.
